As of 5:22 p.m. on August 29, the primary SCE transmission lines serving Big Bear Valley from Lucerne Valley met SCE’s criteria for possible de-energization within the next four hours.



A shutoff has not been confirmed. If SCE de-energizes these lines, BVES will have very limited capacity, and some or all customers may experience an outage. Customers should prepare for the possibility of an extended outage and continue monitoring BVES updates.

Hey Boots! A rescue helicopter was dispatched for an unconscious person east of Erwin Lake yesterday around 1pm. The incident is on the list from yesterday but you would never know it was a helicopter rescue. I saw it on the chatter between Big Bear Fire and Air Rescue 08.

Yesterday morning there was a helicopter circling out over the dry lake in Erwin and surrounding the hills for a long time. Nothing is in incidents. Anyone know what was going on?
