⚡WX ALERT⚡11 minute(s) ago Firefighters have put in a valiant effort today to slow the Line Fire's progression. Today was definitely a pucker-up day with critically low humidity and gusty west winds to 25 mph. The fire burned very actively today southwest of Bluff Lake and near Seven Oaks, creeping up towards the ridge at Lookout Point and moving northeast. Also pushing eastward in the direction of Radford. At this time things are looking pretty good around the Angelus Oaks area as crews continue to harden lines, the challenge has been getting aircraft into the area, occasionally inhibited by smoke. Firefighters are also working on an active flank near Slide Peak south of Hwy 18 and in Bear Creek. Smoke is somewhat clearing this evening allowing aircraft to return with more night Helo’s expected.
⚡WX ALERT⚡11 minute(s) ago Weather will be working more in our favor over the next few days with a decrease in temperatures, drop in winds, and an increase in humidity as the onshore strengthens. We will even see the late night early morning coastal low clouds and fog return near the coast, hopefully pushing further inland.
Expect a fall-like weekend ahead with below-normal temperatures and relatively light winds, even an outside chance for a few showers early next week. This is far from over and the risk remains very high with additional evacuation orders possible, but rest assured, firefighters are doing everything in their power to stop this thing.
⚡WX ALERT⚡11 minute(s) ago Haven't heard Castymiss, but that wouldn't be surprising. When there are evacuation orders in effect, it's usually a one-way street.
Castymiss25 minute(s) ago A friend just said Highway Patrol is no longer allowing anyone else up the 18 via Lucerne. Does anyone know if this is true? Who has come up in the past 30 minutes?
MrsBearendipity25 minute(s) ago SCM, oh my gosh, that has to be a good thing, right?
MountainGiant31 minute(s) ago Are there any updated fire maps for today around the Bear Creek area? I'm assuming that not much has happened which is why we haven't had a lot of feedback. Per the flight radar it looked like most of the concentrated attacks were for AO and RS.
SCM ALERT🚨34 minute(s) ago *********** The Smoke has dissipated quite a bit on the Goldmine Camera (top of Bear Mountain - looking south). Link to Cam: [Click Here]

Dave™1 hour(s) ago I can confirm there will be no CSD trash pickup up tomorrow.
SaveSanG1 hour(s) ago Nope, they DON"T have more important things to do. They have people dedicated (or are supposed to) to public information. Public property is burning, public lands are burning and public funds are being expended. The entire post 9/11 (sad timing) cash cow that went from the feds to the locals included massive amounts of funding for prepping agencies for mass incidents. That briefing isn't an "extra" they are quite literally required to do them. It's part and parcel of every agency for 15+ years now. I'm glad to see the ball has been picked up.
MrsBearendipity1 hour(s) ago SaveSanG, my husband and I said the same. Concise, to the point and in layman’s terms. I realize the fire department has far more critical things to address, but I’m wondering if this same guy will do another update tomorrow.

SaveSanG1 hour(s) ago THAT is a wildland fire briefing. Thanks for the link. That should be happening twice a day on this thing since about day 2 or 3 at most.
