Nitro_James5 second(s) ago @echo i think in times like these its important to stay positive but also have a viewpoint based in reality. Plan for the worst hope for the best you know? I believe in two important factors for firefighters being able to do what they need to do and that's based off either a change in terrain or change in weather. Weather hasnt been on our side the entire time, but we are coming up to a change in terrain. I believe in those protecting our community will make the best out of that.
echofox3 minute(s) ago Gee, Thanks for the positive thoughts Offroadcook.
Offroadcook10 minute(s) ago I was a big part in the purchase and remodeling Camp Bluff Lake 15 some odd years ago and I currently live in Angelus Oaks ride the mountians and know alot about the are and use the time-lapse camera on a regular basis and am very disappointed to see the last update being on the 6th when it's a very valuable resorse not available at its most critical moment what do the folks potentially most valuable to hazard fell about not being able to keep track of there safety because there's enuf fuel on the other side of the mountian too level the town of big bear due to predicted weather sending this with much love

Nitro_James21 minute(s) ago @yesstiles it will definitely be a shame to see bluff lake reserve razed by fire. The truth is it probably will be taken out with how heavy of a fuel enriched area that is and the winds most certainly driving the fire in that direction - along with the surrounding residential interface with the forestry cabins and west boulder bay. Not sure if any one has recently hiked through bluff lake/castle rock trail or looked down the dam, or wandered through the forestry cabins recently but its a tinder box waiting to go unfortunately. as a community we need to go back to a more active roll in the management of land in these areas and others to help reduce these ever increasing uncontrollable fires that we see year over year. Just glad to see the arsonist bail be revoked. I hope he gets the book and more thrown at him.
Offroadcook22 minute(s) ago Looks like the cameras are off when it's most valuable to look down into the Santa Ana valley what's up whit that huh

MrsBearendipity56 minute(s) ago Love that shot of the plane. Mad respect for those guys/gals. Also, I just watched a YouTube video by an Operations Section Chief regarding the Line Fire update. It looks like it was done about two hours ago. The video was linked to a Big Bear Facebook page. He said they still have some challenges with other communities but seemed very optimistic about protecting Big Bear. He indicated they have a “plan”. I found that sort of comforting. Sounds like they’re making progress with all areas, albeit slowly.
Trua1 hour(s) ago Wait...UPS is out delivering packages? Amazon is delivering packages too. The only ones that are not delivering packages appears to be FedEx. That's an odd turn of events considering FedEx is showing as the current employer on the LinkedIn page for the arsonist.
