On Wednesday, June 17, 2026, between 8 am and 5 pm, Bear Valley Electric Service, Inc. will simulate a Public Safety Power Shutoff (PSPS). Notifications for this mock PSPS exercise will be dispatched throughout the day to our public safety partners, clearly designated with Exercise Exercise Exercise. This is solely a practice event; there will be no actual PSPS occurrence, and the power will not be turned off due to this exercise.

Trail Rider, the cicadas have been playing their symphony over here in Poet's Corner. We've been hearing them for the past week or so.

I haven't heard the cicadas yet. I wonder if it will be a big year for them KK

Thank you TR, I did look it up. You are correct. They are infecting some of our spruce trees. I did spray them with neem oil, just to see if that will help. I had Native Scapes out a few years back and yes it is a moth kinda thing. I have a feeling it is going to be a long summer.

I am also hearing citadels in the morning. They sound like buzzing telephone wires. Or maybe it is just my ears ringing.

Weezmo, look up Jeffrey pine needleminer...I would suspect that insect.

Apparently after researching they turn into caterpillars.. never seen them before but can go on all summer.. they feed on pine needles but they are freaking me out
