The west CP has been just above Angelus Oaks by that big turnout by middle control rd.

The east CP was west of jenks lake rd west.

It seems Calltrans may have modified their Facebook post regarding the status of the 38.

As of today, Caltrans' Facebook post (dated December 22nd) announcing the opening of the 38 has this statement at the bottom, without ANY closure hours:

"Closure details after the moratorium: Work is planned to resume shortly, but the route will continue to remain open until further notice."

My question is, is 38 open or closed? The Caltrans news says closed between. 7am till 5 pm. So what is it? Should I stay or should I go?

CALTRANS UPDATE:

I also just came up the 38. It was wide open and there were only a few of us driving up. More cars driving down but still pretty sparse .

Went down 38 today at 9:30am, road is open all the way down. They were setting up for a lane closure but still open.

I went down 38 yesterday at 3:30pm to Angeles Oaks, open and no check points. Checked with Caltrans this morning, no closure.

Spectr - when I went DTH today, the road closed signs at Jenks West and East were going, but still up at Glass Road.... There was actually a backhoe working at Glass.... Perhaps there was some maintenance on Jenks that's now completed

McToddy, per a camp resident on jenks lake rd its open. They may have those signs up to keep the looky loos out? Not sure

I need to go do a drive.

On hwy 38. Open hours changed today.

Closed 7am to 5pm m-f for repairs.

Open 5pm to 7am m-f.

Confirmed with workers at checkpoint
